On Monday and Tuesday the Yr10 GCSE Geography groups undertook their second fieldwork study which is a compulsory part of their course which is examined on at the end of Yr11.

 

Whilst on the trip, students were investigating sections of the River Cober, Helston assessing the river channel and developing their geographical skills. At various sections of the river the groups had to measure channel width, bedload shape and size, and river velocity. Students also had to look at the hard and soft engineering that is being undertaken to prevent flooding in Helston
