Year 10 rugby team goes out of the cup with their heads held high

A great performance for the  Mullion year 10 squad, beaten by last year’s county champions, Truro School. In the first half, we did not have the majority of possession and from that we conceded a few tries due to some miss-tackles and lack of communication between the backs. The second half was a different story; we tackled like the Irish banshees, possessed by the devil himself. We had a lot more possession and kept the ball well. Great tackles flew from Connor Major, lead singer of the “Brittle-shins”, also from Blake Warren and Matt (Martin) Sole. A mistake made by last year’s county school champions (Truro) caused Mr Dancing Feet (Josh Wilson-Hone) to hack the ball forward, but he was controversially pushed by a member of the opposition and this saw the chance flounder. They scored more tires due to individual skill and desire but we almost held our own; certainly in terms of spirit and pride. The final whistle blew and the Mullion team held our heads high because we gave it our all. All the team played well, the squad consisted of:

The unstoppable Archie Jones
Hell on earth Tom Roskilly
The big show Matt Smitheram
The twin towers Sam Charleston and Ben Coad
The blond bombshell Blake Warren
Adam “Brick” Christophers
The possessed Matt Sole
Voice of an angel Connor Major
The animal that is Tom Lewis
Jamma the “rhino” Phillips
Sharp minded Ben Meridew
The skipper, the witty weasel Will Trewin
Buck tooth Will Gibson
Built like an ox Charlie Bates
The tackling demon that is Matthew Broad
The light footed Max Roberts
Mr dancing feet Josh Wilson-Hone
Mr Pretty Boy Theo Edkins
The ladies’ man Joslin Edwards-Moore
The boy that sticks to you John “limpet” Meyer
It’s not a minibus it’s a coach. Mr Sam the “warrior” Fergus

We play our final match of the season Thursay 14 November vs. Penryn away.

Match report by Will Trewin.
