Mullion U16 57-7 St Ives
Match report
The Mullion team started well with dominant forwards play leading to the first score of the game. A feature of the play was strength in the contact area and powerful one out runners close to the breakdown.
The home team then scored another three unanswered tries before the end of the first half. Mullion players opened the game up and used every player and full use of the width of the pitch. The backs grew into the game and were a constant threat.
St Ives started the second half well with a converted try after a strong, powerful backs run down the wing. However, Mullion then got back into the scoring, with five tries coming from building forwards play into good running from all the backs.
Although suffering an injured player in Eryk, the Mullion team played well as a unit and were just too much for the less experienced St Ives team in the end.
Great play by all players on both teams created a great game of rugby.
