Year 11 Football Vs Camborne

The year 11 football squad were running low on players due to illness and a school trip so we arrived in Camborne with a bare 11, did this faze the lads? No, we were full of confidence due our 8-0 drubbing of Redruth the week before. Straight from kick off we look like the better side with confidence and class from everyone. A goal had to come soon and it sure did, down the right wing, the two Harris boys were playing a Barca style of play and Jack received the ball and decided to go for a cross, this cross however turned into a great effort, keeper was stunned and it flew over the poor lad’s head into the back of the net. In the next 10 minutes we were knocking on the door of the red and whites, with Sam Harris whipping in a peach of a cross to what seemed was a free head 4 yards out for Max Roberts who judged it wrong and put it wide. Another goal came for Mullion with Jacob Turner (monk) tapping in a scrappy goal. We were now comfortable going into halftime. Second half we made a few changes and we still looked great, we knocked the ball around and looked like a decent side, Camborne had a chance but fluffed their lines at the final, Ben Meridew (keeper) picked up the ball, got his head up to see Will Trewin flying up the right wing, Mez decided to put his foot through the ball and picked him out superbly, Trewin busting a gut flew himself at the ball and put it past the keeper with a neat finish. The final score ended 3-0 to the in-form Mullion lads, well played boys.
