On a sunny autumn morning students from year 10
triple science class journeyed to watch history in the making as the a British team fired up for a test run of the 1000mph car, Bloodhound at Newquay airport.
They were joined by 4,500 other students from the county of all ages to experience the sights and sounds of engineering in the Nimrod hanger which housed presentations from a suite of disciplines.
While only achieving 180mph on this occasion it is hoped that in 2018 the car will reach its world record speed of 1050mph in the South African dessert.
