Theatre, music and dance fans
on the Lizard will be glad to hear that from autumn this year a venue in
Mullion will be hosting professional shows on a regular basis.
Community venture The Edge@
Mullion, based in Mullion School, has joined Carn to Cove, the highly
successful Rural Touring Scheme for Cornwall.
Carn to Cove brings professional shows from all over the world to Cornwall, to amuse,
entertain, and bowl over communities in rural venues all over the county.
The
Edge stays quite close to home for its first three shows, which represent a
spectrum of the finest Cornish professional talent. To kick off the
proceedings, and ease us all back into the darker evenings with a great big
smile, on October 2nd Falmouth based Trifle Gatherings will be
presenting their Charity Shop Cabaret, described as ‘Fantastically
funny and surreally absurd from start to finish’ (Western Morning News).
The show is based around the lives of Marion, Leonard and Elspeth, three
characters who work in the Help the Jaded Charity Shop. Incorporating film,
comedy, dance, song, raffles, auctions, bingo and talent competitions, it’s an
evening of quirky fun and humour for everyone.
